One drop. Two dro...
Mouse had come for me in my kennel. I had spent most of the day and part of the night before at the park with the waterfalls pool with the Mystery Man talking of past lives and places I have been as well as he. Just lies and smoke screens because no one needs know who I really am or where I come from.. outside of the here and now. Anyway.. I was resting.. considering getting out of my warm blankets when Mouse came and tugged my ankle to drag me out of bed. When I realized the plan I changed out of the pretty white silks I still wore into something drab and ugly so I wouldnt ruin the good silk and headed down with Mouse to tend the task. Dragging a bucket of soapy water and one of clean water behind me I followed her out the front door to the steps. Blinking I stared at the bloody pool for a moment and was assulted by a flash of strange images so fast that I could not make out the pattern. Swooning a bit I used the door frame to hold myself up before I finally cleared my head. The pool of blood on the steps came from the body still bleeding out laying near by. One thing that came to the forefront of my memory was the brand on the slaves inside bicept. I had seen it before.. if it was in reality or one of the dreams I could not decipher. Dropping to my knees I grabbed the brush and got to work along with Mouse scrubbing up the mess while they dragged the headless body away. There was a nagging in my head after I saw the brand. I kept getting flashes of The Patron's face and men in white robes and blood flowing from the stumps of what used to be necks. Its over whelming really.. I glanced at the bucket as I went to dip my brush and noticed too soon I was putting the bloody brush into the clean water.... A single drop of blood fell in and poluted the whole bucket.. and when a second drop was about to hit the surface I heard it.. faint and more like a rustling then words... " Prepare and beware " Just a whisper on the wind. I shivered and when the brush hit the water I hit the marble.
